Mommy Makeover? Hell No!

By Laura Moncur @ 5:00 am — Filed under:

As if to make it normal, plastic surgeons have created the phrase, “Mommy Makeover,” which is a combination of surgeries: breast implant, tummy tuck and liposuction. This video treats the surgeries like they are the new and fashionable thing to have:

Any one of those three surgeries are MAJOR surgery with potential complications that could kill you. Doing them all at once is courting disaster. Don’t let them convince you that hacking and slicing your body is normal or something you deserve. This woman, Christy, was beautiful enough without the surgery and so are you.

    I just find this terrifying.

It’s real sugary with real complications. It would be nice to shrink skin without it. I thought of getting it to repair some skin after weight loss but my husband told me I didn’t need it that I was beautiful to him. It was a huge ego booster and at a lot less money.

That’s really sad and scary. I feel really bad for women today that think that having surgery like that is what they “need” to do, to feel good about themselves. I feel better about myself now (overweight, but losing a healthy amount) than I did when I was way underweight (back in high school).

The more women that have this surgery, the more it will be the standard for other women.

I find it really sad. I would understand if she were grossly deformed from having children and this was of some medical help. Some of us have this problem. It is not fun, even thought I have the money to fix it I would not ever do it because it is major and my life with my kids and husband are more important.
