PostSecret: Positively Alive

As a child, my grandma told me that no one would want to be my friend if I was fat. That’s why I try so hard to have friends. It’s like I measure my self-worth based on how many friends I have. Even if they’re not good friends…

I hope you also have some true friends, that will always be there for you!

I will be your friend. You are cool. I was told I’d never find anyone due to being fat. I found my dream guy. The type a guy I wanted to be with since I was 12.

How sad that your grandma said that when you were an impressionable child. I wonder whether she really believed it.
