i work at a gym in canery wharf, london which has two of the pictured power plate machines and i think that they're just a gimmick.

I have to show people how to use them and don't feel any benifit from experimenting with it.

Ladies hit the squat rack instead.

jk

To me this thing is a joke - an expensive piece of junk. I've also looked for any scientific studies that support this idea and haven't been able to find anything. Working out doesn't need to be so complicated - stick with the basics.

I'm sorry, but that thing looks hilarious. I'm not sure how anyone's supposed to take it seriously....

Fair enough; I myself was sceptical although if you tried one out and find out how very sore you were afterwards you wouldn't doubt SOMETHING was happening. Still, different strokes and all that.

Thanks very much for the reading the article and commenting on it.

Alex

(P.S. Alex is short for Alexandra... he's a she...)

My sister has bought one of those. Not that she has any weight to lose, she wants to develop muscle. She told me she can 'feel it', but I'm still not convinced (of course you can 'feel it' when you're on some vibrating platform, and feeling doesn't always mean 'having an efficient workout' anyway). Granted, I haven't tried it myself; I'm just old-school, and prefer to stick to pumpin my good old iron.

Yeah, I think I'm ready too. Keep it simple, people. Simple.
