&lt;p&gt;1) Bulimia doesn&#039;t make people skinny. In fact, we&#039;re more often normal or over-weight. And, that makes us feel even more miserable. We all tend to feel even more like failures cuz we consider ourselves &quot;bad bulimics&quot; if we go through all this hell and still can&#039;t even be skinny.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;2) Loving ourselves is not a quick fix. It takes a lot of time and work to learn how to do that and to prove to ourselves over and over again that we&#039;re worth loving.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;3) Learning to love and honor ourselves IS the only lasting way to recovery - from eating disorders, anxiety, depression, rage, hopelessness. It&#039;s the only way.&lt;/p&gt;
