Whenever I've fallen off the wagon, I make sure to go and weigh in that week. I own it (usually by saying it out loud to someone else: "yep, it was a stupid idea to make a rum cake"). And then I let it go and get back to work next week.

I might spend a little time in self-pity and/or -beratement, but it stops cold at the weigh-in. Once the weight is written down, that's where I'm working from -- whether that weight is higher or lower than last week's doesn't matter for THIS week. I don't let myself dwell on it.

I always love your questions of the week, they really make me think.

During this loss I went through a rough month. I ate within my points but was too depressed to exercise regularly. I knew if I didn’t fix the situation the eating poorly would soon follow. I got out my calendar to reward myself for exercise. I did every 30 work outs was a reward. You can also reward yourself with non food items for journaling.
I don’t think motivation should be strictly internal. We can’t be happy all the time. We can’t be perfect.

I also have to use a little creativity and make a loose plan for the day. I realize loneliness and boredom are triggers for me as well as running out of good food to eat. The food is what we eat. I bought canned and frozen veggies for when I am low on the fresh stuff. I cut cup bananas and freeze them for when I am out of apples.

You also might want to punch it up a little. Every time I feel that I am starting to go off a little I try something new. I do a new exercise. I try a new recipe or eat a new vegetable.
Sometimes we get too comfortable eating and doing the same things over again. I often eat the same things but sometimes I just want to jazz it up a little. It could be one piece of fruit that I don't normally eat.

Dining out Tip. When getting back on program with dining you want to make sure your nutrition guide or food companion is in your purse, or briefcase.

I realize I am not perfect.
While I am on program with eating I am way off program with my flying/cleaning flylady.net . I just started back up with that today. I don’t know why I don’t do it. I am happier when I do. So I know if I don’t keep the food in check I can struggle like I am struggling with organization.
