Anyone looking for a strap to attach your laptop to your treadmill check out this website http://www.thenetrunner.com. They have a strap that I have been suing for 6 months now and it works with just about any laptop and treadmill.

Hi Laura, just happened to come across your blog. The picture you have of my treadputer setup was my first design, now scrapped as the mouse platform was too low, caused sore wrist. It was fine for typing though. I was going to put a small lip on the end to prevent the laptop from sliding down, but found a level design works better, so no worries there.

You would not have to modify your treadmill or laptop in any way as you suggested. My shelf simply hooks over the front handrail and rests on the siderails, it pops right off! I have been walking and working for almost a year now, and it is the only thing keeping me from going insane working at a computer all day!

Cheers- Rick

Add me to the list of newly minted computer walkers... still in the process of getting it up and running, but looking forward to hearing how it's working for other people, so please feel free to visit my blog and post comments. Thanks -- V.

The main benefits for me have been the family time saved by not having to worry about exercise after work, and/or feeling guilty if I don't squeeze it in. It's basic multi-tasking while avoiding the health problems related to sitting all day. I've shed 15 lbs in the first 3 months.

Burned the motor out of a home treadmill. Enjoy the gym better and outdoor jogging while listing to music from way back to the present. Don't want to see my computer when working out. I guess my PC is more of a chore than a pleasure. And my jogging is more a pleasure than a chore.

You could maybe screw clips on and clip your computer on or Maybe put basket on. I don’t own a tredmill. Ataching an X box control to one sounds fun.
I have the One on One Trainer from Tony Little. My mom didn’t want it anymore.
