Personally I prefer the BodySolids models but with minimal extras. When I work out I tend to focus on just a few points on my home gym rather than a total body rep. I can see my progress more easilly and I am not filling my square footage with accessories that I really don't use. You can sometime fit in 2 maybe even 3 body part specific machines into the same sapce as an all-in-one-do everything-under-the-sun mega-home-gym-monster.
Like anything else...moderation.

I ended up going with a plain weight bench and free weights for awhile too. For some reason though it just bored me to death while the Bowflex kept me interested. I couldn't stand lugging those free weights around every time I wanted to switch exercises. Maybe it's just me.

I've been looking for the Apex multi function weight bench item locally and have not been able to find it.
I cannot wait to hear your opinions on yours.

I had considered the Competitor Home Gym with 100 lb. Weight Stack but keep changing my mind.

A great alternative is the Total Trainer, a Total Gym knock-off. The footprint is about 7', but the height is around 4 1/2'. It's a great machine, and it folds up so you can park it against a wall or in a closet. It costs a bit more than $120, but is well worth the money, I think. But, if you have long hair, be sure you put it up! I inadvertantly got my hair caught in a roller & thought I was a goner. Anyhow - congratulations on your find!
